Ben Novello: Former President of Outback Steakhouse – “Customer-Focused Leadership”

Ben Novello is the former President of Outback Steakhouse, leading the nationwide restaurant chain in its mission of creating a fun, quality dining experience. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University in 1978, as well as a BBA from Arizona State University in 1981, Ben joined Outback Steakhouse in 1991. He rose through the ranks, working as a Managing Partner until June 1994 and a joint venture partner until September 1996. He became Vice President of Operations in 1997 and served as the company’s president from 2004 to 2006.

Interviewed by Winn Claybaugh in 2001, Ben explained that a human being couldn’t be in 650 locations every day to inspect that the culture was intact, but a vision and a standard could. Listen in as they discuss the power of customer-focused leadership.
